Mr H was exposed to excessive levels of noise, whilst working in the light bulb manufacturing industry for a period of around 20 years. Mr H worked for Osram (GEC) Ltd, of Refuge Street, Shaw, Oldham. He was employed as an electrician and maintenance electrician throughout and based variously in Osram’s Cape Mill and Duke Mill. Mr H was exposed to the noise of various assembly machinery, including pinch, mount, celex, capping, finishing and ageing machinery. In addition, he would also be exposed to the noise of smashing glass and exploding bulbs.
