Mr A was exposed to excessive levels of noise, whilst working for MDF Design industry for a period of over 6 years. He was employed as a Warehouse Operative and exposed to the noise of drilling machines and compressors, for the duration of his shifts.
Mr Oakley was exposed to excessive levels of noise, whilst working in the nightclub industry for a period of 8 years. Mr Oakley worked as a nightclub doorman for Britannia Hotels, at Fridays Nightclub, on Palatine Road in Didsbury, Greater Manchester. During his employment, he was exposed to the noise of the music systems within the club. According to the nightclub’s own noise surveys, the music reached in excess of 100dB.
J R Crompton produced paper for decades before being bought out by Glatfelter in 2006. Despite previous cases being settled against this company, the insurers and Glatfelter took a hard stance on settling any more cases. (No allegation has been made that Glatfelter exposed their employees to harmful levels of noise since taking over the firm).
