A veteran bin man who has to wear hearing aids in both ears after a council failed to provide him with protective equipment has been paid more than £8,000 in compensation.

Ms J wins just over £3,000.00 payout for her noise induced hearing loss claim.
Ms J worked for Debenhams Ltd (Lotus) of Freeman Street, Stafford from 1972 to 1981. She was employed as a filler and worked in the heel department. He duties involved cementing heels on to shoes. Ms J was employed in a very noisy environment, with many machines surrounding her, including buffing, scouring and spraying machinery. She advises that if she wanted to communicate with someone a few feet away, she would have to shout.
