The staff of WE Solicitors LLP held a “M.A.D.D. Hatters” Tea Party in support of the ‘Make a Difference Day’ campaign by Action on Hearing Loss. All our staff prepared cakes which were sold to raise money for the charity and in total the firm raised £150.
The tea party was attended by many of the residents and companies based in Ivy Mill Business Centre who made donations to the charity in return for a cake and cuppa!
Steven Evans, the Partner for Industrial Disease said “We deal with hundreds of clients who have lost their hearing through working in noise. Many of our clients struggle to hear family and friends and have awful tinnitus which is a constant nuisance. We are happy that we can support the work of the charity in some small way”.
Action on Hearing Loss is the new name for RNID. Their website can be found at www.actiononhearingloss.org.uk/ where they state – our name has changed but our vision hasn’t – a world where hearing loss doesn’t limit or label people, where tinnitus is silenced and where people value their hearing enough to look after it.
‘We are very grateful to We Solicitors for their very generous donation, especially as so many employees volunteered their spare time. It is wonderful to see local businesses come together to fundraise and their efforts will make a vital difference in supporting services such as our helpline and local drop-in centres, which help to reduce the isolation caused by hearing loss, deafness and tinnitus’. Edward Hodgkins, Head of Relationship Fundraising, Action on Hearing Loss.
