Mr. Steve Royales worked for Robert Fletcher & Sons Limited from 1979 to 1989 at their site based in Greenfield. The company manufactured paper and had a large work force of local residents.
Mr. Royales worked for the company as a Pipe Fitter and Welder. Mr Royales was exposed to excessive noise from the extremely large paper making machines, the beater department and general maintenance and building of machinery.
As a result of Mr. Royales exposure to the excessive noise at work he has suffered noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus, this was confirmed when WE Solicitors arranged a medical assessment of his hearing condition.
Mr. Royales was informed by a former colleague at Robert Fletcher & Sons that there had been an advert in the local paper which specifically mentioned working in noise and Robert Fletcher & Sons Ltd. Mr Royales contacted WE solicitors and following a hearing test he was informed that he had a hearing loss that could be attributable to working in noise.
Court proceedings were issued however WE Solicitors were able to negotiate an out of court settlement for Mr. Royales in the sum of £6000.
Both Mr. Royales and WE Solicitors are very pleased with the outcome.
