Mr Alan Slater was exposed to excessive levels of noise, whilst working for Royal Ordnance Factory, later taken over by BAE Systems Ltd. He was employed as an Apprentice, Mechanical Engineer, Machine Setter and Tool Maker and exposed to the noise of various machines including, Wyvomatic machines, Haesler Rotary Transfer, Schaublin machines, milling machines, grinders and lathes.

Mr Alan Slater now suffers from mild noise induced hearing loss and mild noise related tinnitus, which was confirmed when WE Solicitors arranged a medical assessment of her hearing condition. This was presented to the defendants, as part of the evidence, to support Mr Alan Slater’s claim.

Court proceedings were issued in this case however, WE Solicitors were able to negotiate an out of court settlement of £3,500.00 for Mr Alan Slater, avoiding the need for court proceedings to be served. Both Mr Alan Slater and WE Solicitors are very pleased with the outcome.
