Never provided with hearing protection by his employers

Mr S was awarded £3,500 in compensation. Mr S was employed by Royal Doulton at their Nile Street site in Burslem where he worked as Fitter Caster and later as a Kiln Worker.

Whilst working at Royal Doulton from around 1977 to 2005, Mr S was subjected to excessive noise from casting machines and kilns. Mr S was never provided with hearing protection by his employers.

As a result of his exposure to excessive noise Mr S suffered with hearing loss. A medical report was obtained from an Ear, Nose and Throat Consultant confirmed his injuries.

This was a particularly difficult case as the Defendant had difficulties locating documents and this resulted in a delay with the case. WE continued to pursue the case however and eventually managed to secure some compensation for Mr S.
