Ms H wins £1285.85 payout after working as a lithographer at Royal Doulton Tableware and Ridgway Potteries Ltd, for a total of six years. Mrs H was exposed to the noise of the kilns, gilding machinery, blowers, dryers and the pottery on the conveyor belts. She was never provided with any hearing protection or warned about the dangers of noise exposure.
This case was not without difficulty, as some of the insurers of the defendant companies were untraceable, given the passage of time. This meant that a small proportion of the claim was not recoverable.
Despite this, WE Solicitors LLP were able to obtain supportive medical evidence for Ms H and negotiate the claim to settlement. Ms H was pleased with the outcome.
