Mr M Receives £4,000 Compensation

Mr M of Rossendale was employed by Mutual Mills Ltd. in Heywood from approximately 1975 to 1977 and again from around 1985 to 1989.

Mr M was employed as a Spinner, Apprentice Carder and Carder. Whilst carrying out his duties at the mill Mr M was subjected to excessive noise from spinning machines, carding machines and drawing frames. The noise levels were so excessive that it was difficult to communicate even by shouting and employees would therefore usually communicate by lip-reading.

Supportive medical evidence was obtained from an Ear, Nose & Throat Consultant who confirmed that Mr M was suffering with hearing loss and tinnitus as a result of exposure to excessive noise.

WE entered into negotiations with the insurers of Mutual Mills and managed to obtain £4,000 compensation for Mr M.
