Lamp Caps Success – Chesterfield

This firm has been raising awareness of noise induced hearing loss in the light bulb making industry.  This follows on from previous successful claims made against Lamp Caps.

Lamp Caps employed hundreds of workers throughout the 1960’s to the 1990’s when production was moved and the plant closed down.  During this period workers were exposed to excessive noise emanating from the various industrial machines involved in the production process.

From 1963 employers were required to provide hearing protection to all members of staff exposed to noise.  Unfortunately many companies failed to take steps to minimise the risk of injury to their employees even though the cost of earplugs and defenders where minimal.

Many former employees believe that because the company has closed they could not claim.  This is not the case and since the early 1970’s companies were required by law to have insurance in place.  As long as we can trace the insurer we are able to make a claim on the behalf of those injured.

Since our awareness campaign many former workers, all of whom are complaining of reduced hearing and recall working in a noisy enviroment have contacted us.  If you have similar problems then call Steven Evans on Freephone 0800 294 3065 alternatively email us at
