Help for Military Heroes with Hearing Loss

A session for military personnel, veterans and family members suffering from hearing impairment will take place at Phoenix house, a Help for Heroes recovery centre, this month.

Phoenix House is hosting the open event on Wednesday, May 28, from 11am until 2pm, and will be run by experts from charity Action on Hearing Loss.

The charity will offer advice on the range of help and equipment available to those who have experienced deterioration in their hearing, including screenings, the range of aids available, help with tinnitus and what to do next.

Sally Mendonca, supported courses coordinator for the support hub at Phoenix House, commented:

“Many of those who we support at Phoenix House list some level of deafness as one of their injuries, which is why we thought it worthwhile to invite Action on Hearing Loss here,” she said.

“But their representatives are also happy to help other members of the public who feel they would benefit from specialist advice. It’s a great opportunity to find out more about the available that could really improve your quality of life.”

The event is open so there is no need to book ahead.
