Former Tyre Manufacturing Worker Wins Settlement of £3,000.00 for Industrial Deafness.

Mr C was exposed to excessive levels of noise, whilst working in the tyre manufacturing industry for a period of over 30 years. Mr C worked for Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK Ltd of Stafford Road, Wolverhampton, West Midlands.

Mr C was employed as a dust ring operative, a red tag operative, a fork lift truck driver and on the laydowns. He was employed in Department 132 throughout and exposed to the noise of Banbury machines, mills, the banging of metal skids, fork lift trucks, lift machinery and conveyor machinery.

During Mr C’s employment, he was not provided with hearing protection until approximately, the late 1980’s, by which time, the damage had been done. Mr C now suffers from mild noise induced hearing loss and mild noise related tinnitus, which was confirmed when WE Solicitors arranged a medical assessment of his hearing condition. This was presented to the defendants, as part of the evidence, to support Mr C’s claim.

WE Solicitors were able to negotiate a settlement of £3,000.00 for Mr C, avoiding the need for the case to go to trial. Both Mr C and WE Solicitors are pleased with the outcome.
