Noise induced hearing loss sufferer, Mrs. S, wins settlement of £2,000.00 through WE Solicitors.
Mrs. S was exposed to excessive levels of noise, whilst working in the weaving industry for a period of around 3 years. Mrs. S worked for Perseverance Mills of Albion Street, Padiham, Burnley, during her period of exposure. She was employed as a weaver throughout and exposed to the noise of 100’s of weaving looms, for the duration of her shifts.
During Mrs. S’ employment she was never provided with hearing protection and nor was she ever made aware of the dangers that working in excessive noise gives rise to. Mrs. S now suffers from mild noise induced hearing loss, which was confirmed when WE Solicitors arranged a medical assessment of her hearing condition. This was presented to the defendants, as part of the evidence, to support Mrs. S’s claim.
WE Solicitors were able to negotiate an out of court settlement of £2,000.00 for Mrs. S, avoiding the need for court proceedings.
