Mr. Davidson worked for Mather & Platt Ltd from 1964 to 1968 at the Park Works in Manchester. Mr. Davidson started at Mather & Platt, when he was 16 as an Apprentice Lathe Worker in May 1964. The company produced electric motors, centrifugal pumps and fire sprinkler systems.

Mr. Davidson was exposed to excessive noise form machinery such as Turret Lathes, Capston Lathes and Centre Lathes, 14-pound hammers, grinders, Borers and fettlers.

As a result of Mr. Davidson’s exposure to the excessive noise at Mather & Platt ltd he has suffered noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus, this was confirmed when WE Solicitors arranged a medical assessment of his hearing condition.

Mr. Davidson approached WE Solicitors after seeing an advertisement in the local paper specifically about noise exposure at Mather & Platt Limited. WE Solicitors were able to negotiate an out of court settlement of £5,000.00 for Mr. Davidson avoiding the need for court proceedings.
