Mr Graham Wild wins settlement of £8,250.00 through WE Solicitors, for his Noise Induced Hearing Loss claim.
Mr Wild was exposed to excessive levels of noise, whilst working in the refuse collection and recycling industry, from 1978 to the present. Mr Wild has been employed by Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council, for over 30 years and employed as a refuse collector and recycling operative. Throughout his employment, he has been exposed to noise levels in excess of 90dB from the refuse wagons and recycling processes.
Mr Wild advises that throughout his employment, he was never provided with hearing protection and the issue of noise was simply not mentioned. It was not until very recently that the company started to pay any attention to the matter, by which time, the damage had already been done.
Mr Wild now suffers from mild noise induced hearing loss and a moderate degree of noise related tinnitus, which was confirmed when WE Solicitors arranged a medical assessment of his hearing condition. This was presented to the defendants, as part of the evidence, to support Mr Wild’s claim.
Despite this, WE Solicitors were able to negotiate an out of court settlement of £8,250.00 for Mr Wild, avoiding the need for court proceedings. Both Mr Wild and WE Solicitors are very pleased with the outcome.
