Mr Cook wins a £472.60 noise induced hearing loss payout after working as a sheet metal worker at BBA Motor Fittings, Wolverhampton, from 1964 to 1966. Mr Cook was exposed to the noise of guillotines, cutting machines, presses and drills.
Furthermore, this was a multi-defendant case, and Mr Cook has already won £4243.00 payout after being exposed to excessive noise, whilst working for Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK Ltd and Sir Alfred McAlpine & Son Ltd.
This was a particularly difficult case as there were no records pertaining to Mr Cook’s employment at BBA Motor Fittings, nor noise surveys, given the passage of time. Additionally, several discounts had to be applied for periods of noise exposure that were too small to claim for and for dissolved companies, where the insurers could not be traced.
Nevertheless, WE Solicitors obtained supportive witness and medical evidence, to build up the case, managing to settle the claim out of court.
