WE Solicitors managed to obtain £2,500 compensation for Miss S from Preston. Miss S worked for British Northrop as a central lathe turner from 1962 until 1967. At British Northrop Miss S was exposed to excessive noise from milling machines, drilling machines and lathes. Even though Miss S’s exposure was a long time ago, WE Solicitors were still successful in obtaining compensation.
WE Solicitors obtained supportive medical evidence from an Ear, Nose & Throat Consultant confirming that Miss S was suffering with noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus.
This was a particularly difficult case as the Defendant attempted to argue that Miss S’s hearing loss was not due to noise exposure but was due to age associated hearing loss only. WE Solicitors did not accept the Defendant’s stance and continued to fight Miss S’s case. The Defendant eventually accepted the medical evidence and agreed to pay Miss S compensation.
