Mr Richardson receives £5,000 payout after working as a Back Tenter and Laminator at J & J Makins Ltd, Rochdale. Mr Richardson worked for this company for 6 years and was exposed to noise so loud it permanently damaged his hearing and he now suffers from tinnitus (a ringing in the ears).

J & J Makins was a company that produced a variety of paper and card on an industrial scale. It employed approximately 80 people who lived locally so it is expected others in the local area may come forward with claims for noise induced hearing loss in the future.

The company was dissolved approximately 18 years ago but we were able to trace the insurance company who were responsible for paying out claims for personal injury.
