Mr. Dennis McIntyre worked for Robert Fletcher & Sons Limited from 1966 to 2000 at their site based in Stoneclough. The company manufactured paper mainly for the cigarette industry.

Mr. McIntyre worked for the company in a number of different capacities, namely a Spare-Man, Reel Tenter, Dryer Man and later as a Machine Man. Mr McIntyre was exposed to excessive noise from the of the paper making machinery throughout his employment with the company.

As a result of Mr. McIntyre’s exposure to the excessive noise at work he has suffered noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus, this was confirmed when WE Solicitors arranged a medical assessment of his hearing condition.

Mr. McIntyre was contacted by a former colleague of his to be a witness in support of his case. Following this Mr. McIntyre investigated his own hearing problems through WE solicitors which showed that he himself suffered noise induced hearing loss.

WE Solicitors were able to negotiate an out of court settlement for Mr. McIntyre avoiding the need for the service of court proceedings.
