£4,000.00 payout after working as an instrument technician for BP Chemicals International Ltd

Mr G wins £4,000.00 payout after working as an instrument technician for BP Chemicals International Ltd from 1972 to 1992. Mr G was employed at the power station at Baglan Bay, Port Talbot and was exposed to the noise of high pressure boilers, steam turbines, blowers and multi-stage pumps, amongst others.

Hearing protection was not made available to Mr G by his employers, until the late 1980’s, by which time, much of the damage had already been done. WE Solicitors arranged for Mr G to have a medical assessment carried out in relation to his hearing condition, which confirmed he is suffering from noise induced hearing loss and noise related tinnitus.

WE Solicitors agreed an out of court settlement with the defendant’s insurers of £4,000.00, avoiding the need for court proceedings. Mr G has previously had a successful claim against BP Tanker Co Ltd for his hearing condition, for which he has already received his settlement payment.
