Mr Tasker wins £3,750.00 payout for noise induced hearing loss, after working as a labourer at Osram (GEC) Ltd of Shaw, Oldham.
Mr Tasker worked for the company from 1983 to 1998 in various departments, including the Sodium Preparation Plant, the Cement Room, the TLS Department and the GLS Department. He was exposed to the noise of machinery involved the process of manufacturing light bulbs. The machinery included sodium and mercury treating equipment, extractor fans, cement mixers, capping machines and packing machines, to name but a few.
During Mr Tasker’s employment, the issue of noise was never mentioned. He was never warned about the dangers of excessive noise exposure and never provided with hearing protection. A medical report arranged by WE Solicitors, confirmed that Mr Tasker was suffering from noise induced hearing loss, as a result of his previous noise exposure.
WE Solicitors negotiated a settlement of £3,750.00 with the defendant, by way of an out-of-court settlement.
